Panthers Play & Prey on Franklin Square Force
1-3 Loss Masks Great Plays and Teamwork

On Saturday, the Panthers played the Franklin Square Force, and lost a tough game to an equally tough Team, the Franklin Square Force.  Stephanie scored our only goal by leaping into the fray in front of the goal and shooting for the corners. However, we had lots of other shots on goal by team Captain Caitlyn, Allison, and Cory.

This was also our first game with our Secret Weapon, Claudia, who made more than half a dozen beautiful saves that never once bobbled out of her hands of steel.  The only goals were impossible to stop, shot by Franklin Squares pugnacious punters from outside the box.

Although we lost, the girls had a great time and are looking forward to catching their next prey unawares, the Rockville Center (RVC) Predators.

Next Game: Saturday, October 3rd
AWAY Game: 2:40 pm start versus the Rockville Center (RVC) Predators

Our next game will kick off at 2:40 pm, this Saturday.   All Panthers and Parents please report to duty and stretches no later than 1:30 pm.  Directions will be sent out via e-mail by Wednesday, 30 September.

Remember to bring water bottles, back pack, ball, and we are wearing BLUE.  No jewelry or earrings.

Our Newest Player, Weapon, and Goalie
Welcome #22!!!!!

Please welcome our newest member of the Mighty Panthers.     She will be wearing #22 and her name will be kept under wraps as our newest secret weapon.  She loves to play sports including Lacrosse and basketball, and with her on the team we expect she can help us rocket toward 1st place.

Thanks for joining the pack #22!

Panthers Practice Schedule
Fall 2009

Until further notice, all further practices will be held at Manorhaven PARK (not the school) as follows

  • Mondays:         3:45 to 5:15
  • Thursdays:      6:30 to 8:00

Also, the Port Washington Soccer League is hosting special goalie clinics, with a goalie trainer,  on the following days, from 5:45-6:45 PM.

  • Thursday September 24
  • Wednesday September 30
  • Thursday October 8
  • Wedneday October 14
  • Thursday October 22
  • Wednesday October 28
  • Thursday November 5
  • Thursday November 12
  • Wednesday November 18

Your coaches and trainers highly recommend that Panthers try out these clinics as they will help to build the skills and confidence our players need to play goalie and to understand the requirements for the position.  Your panther may discover that they really love playing goalie and we need all the goalies we can get.

At all practices, please bring water, a soccer ball, cleats, shin guards, and your backpack.

Directions to the Panthers HOME Field
Daly Elementary, 42 Rockwood Ave.

The Mighty Panthers stalk their prey at their home field at Daly Elementary, located at 42 Rockwood Ave., deep in the heart of Port Washington.  It’s about a 5 mile drive straight north on Searingtown Road (which changes names to Port Washington Blvd, and then again changes names to Middle Neck Road), from the Long Island Expressway (LIE). Once you see the Methodist Church on the right, turn left onto Rockwood Ave.  The fields are 1 block west.

Detailed directions and maps are contained in the Continue link below.
